"Quail Thread-Hatching, Mutations, and everything quail related!!!"

When I got my mail order eggs, it's was Valentines day and they felt like they were about 40 degrees. The outside temp was about 39 degrees and the mail lady left them on the porch.

I let them warm up to room temperature and put them into the incubator the next morning. The breeder said they would be 3 to five days old when I got them from USPS. My hatch went well and the chicks all hatched (except four)within 24 hours. Three were very large and were upside down in the shell and appeared to have died in the shell. One was not fertile.

I was so excited to get my shipped eggs!! I ordered a dozen jumbo coturnix, but they sent 20!!! Only one was broken. Very well packaged. I have 33 in the bator!!! I have a homemade bator which is staying right around 98-100... I figure it's better than frying the little ones!!
Can anybody tell me if I can easily add the new flock members to the existing flack with no problem at about 6-8 weeks or do I have to keep them separated until they start laying?? This is my first hatch :)

Thats great. I still prefer button quail though they are so small and cute!
