Quail tractor questions

I have a couple of Gambels quail and planning to get a few more. I'm want to build a quail tractor so I can move them around my yard. I want to keep them on soil so I'd like to be able to move them around to limit problems with cleanliness. My question: will Gambels use a 'coop' like cots will (seen some youtube videos of cots tractors with them using a little coop)? My plan is to get them trained to go in there coop at nights and lock them in to keep them safe and also when I'm moving them so they don't escape.

Hairbrained idea? Any tips/plans/etc??

You won't be able to "train" them to go there on command but if you make it comfy they will probably just want to go there anyway at night. Locking up at night is a good idea on ground cages, your birds will last longer lol.
