Well I have a alot of scrap wood laying around and was thinking maybe I could make a quail tractor? But isnt there a risk of them getting worms or something?I bet grass and bug fed coturnix would taste very good though..

I am making quail tractor out of an old dog run. 2 people can easily move it.

I have heard the warning about worms too, but I don't get how it is cruel to raise chickens on wire and keep them caged all the time, but somehow it is perfectly ok for quail??

I am just going to watch their droppings, rotate the pasture often and not overcrowd the birds. Fresh air, fresh pasture and sunshine go a long way towards helping birds fight off diseases and parasites.

There is no guarantee, but it is a risk I am willing to take.

I keep all my quail on the ground, but no one can tell me what wormers to use for them. They have been on the ground for a year, and they seem find to me.
