My 5 button quail have just reached 6 weeks old... maturity. As their gift, I moved them from their enclosure of 1.5 feet in total for all 5 to a ginormous outdoor run in with over 8 square feet per bird. But I have a fear, what if they can't find what they need to? Rn they're hiding under the coop inside the run in. The heat is inside the coop and the food and water and dust bath are scattered around. What if they can't find it? Will they find the heat inside the coop intime for night or will they find the water before they get dehydrated? It's been a few hours and they haven't entered the coop or consumed anything. My fear is that they'll starve or get dehydrated or too cold before they find the proper spot.

Looks like they're going the night without heat. Hopefully they will be okay.

They're UNDER the coop? I don't think you ever mentioned that you had a raised coop. Quail are ground birds, so they may not ever go into it. They might, but there's a good chance that they won't.

They aren't quite adults yet (not until about 12 weeks old), but they are about the equivalent of teenagers. They should be able to find things, but it will take them a few days to get adjusted.

The coop is raised like 3 inches.
