Thank You! I really love my quail and try to take good care of them. As a matter of fact, here at my house, they are not even called quail. Everybody refers to them as my "Fatties"
I have an aviary that is roughly 16' long by 6-8' w (can't remember which) by 8' tall that I house roughly 40-50 quail in. As long as everybody is calm and the girls are in good shape (no bare backs allowed at my house) I really don't take into consideration the sex ratios.
I know that goes against quite alot of established knowledge but as long as there is enough room and plenty of places for them to hide in I don't see alot of the behavioral problems that come from "breeding" my birds. That is not to say that I have not had to bring in more girls from time to time or that I have not had to isolate a very rambuncious male but I have found (after trying different ways of doing things )that this is the best way for me to bring up my birds.
