Quails + Chickens = ????

i have 16 chickens, 2 white leghorns, 2 production Reds, and 12 sex links (black and red). If i get some quails will they mix in with my hens or will they be pecked? and if i do get them will they have to be in a separate cage all closed up so they dont escape?

Chickens and quail is not a good mix. The quail will be picked upon and most likely killed by the chickens.

Game birds are vulnerable to disease passed through the chickens, thus it is not healthy for the birds to be mixed with chickens. They also require a higher protein diet.

ye im going to have to do the same ive got a nice bird aviary lined up.

My quail pen is couple feet from the chicken run and has no problem.
