quails eggs

does anyone know how long quail keep laying, and what their life expectancy is?

My college has two hens, but they don't lay every day for some reason. You would be lucky to get one egg every two or three days with them...maybe its because of their diet? Do quails lay less if they don't have enough protein in their diet?

this is my quail, breed is pharoh quail or cournix. female. she just lays here eggs where ever she wants. very friendly. loves to be held. these are pics from when i showed her.
