Quail's eye ( HELP PLEASE)

Im really worried, today i let my quail out for a bet and they were just walking around the house and then i accidently stepped on one of my quails head barefoot and first it closed its eyes and started to droop so i quickly took it in my hands and poured a little bit of cold water on its head and it started to walk around and seemed fine until i noticed its right eye was closed, i gently tried to open the eye and it seemed okay it wasnt red or bleeding but the quail still doesnt open its right eye it started to eat and it opened its right eye a bit but then closed it again and its night and still hasnt opened her right eye so im just really worried and wondering if anyone could help me, if anyone knows how can they tell me how to help the quail and make its eye feel better or maybe how to make its eye open again?

I would imagine his eye feels bruised. If it was a person, he could rest his eye by wearing an eye patch. But, you can't do that with a chicken. I think I would make sure he is in a shady area when outside, so light getting in doesn't irritate his eye more. You may want to post on the "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread to ask if it would help if you used a cold or hot washcloth against his eye a few times a day. Or if there was some over the counter soothing drops you could use in that eye.
