Quail's first ever egg was fertile!

Hi All!

First of all I'd love to introduce myself - I'm Warren.

I've lurked on these forums for a while and picked up some great information so thanks to everyone who has ever posted anything I've found useful

So, I've read a lot that the first few eggs a quail lays are rarely fertile... But today (17 days after I started setting the eggs my quail have been laying) the first ever egg that one of my quail laid has pipped and is chirping away like there's no tomorrow!

I'm quite excited as this is going to be the first quail that I hatch that isn't from an egg I've bought online!!

I just thought I'd share my experience with you all and I look forward to hopefully making some (valuable if at all possible) contributions to the forum...
