I have a Bobwhite Quail and Ringneck/Melanistic Mutant Pheasant hatch that's due tomorrow and the next day but it looks as though i have a few bobwhite chicks that hatched out already [IMG] today is Day 22 . I dont even have the brooder set up because i was expecting them to hatch tomorrow or Sat. they surprised me alright [IMG] ! I have the food for them but i have someone getting me the heat light bulb tomorrow, could i leave the chicks in the bator until tomorrow? I will be working tomorrow but when i get back i could get them in the brooder.

    Thanks! [IMG]

Hatching early is normal for some quail. 22 to 24 days for bobwhites is about the norm. You can leave chicks in the incubator for 24 hours (actually longer if needed but not recommended). Chicks come with a 3 day supply of food when they absorb the last of the yolk before hatching. Good Luck

You can leave them in the bator intil you get off work, they will be fine.
