Hello all,
first time I’ve hatched any quail. One has hatched so far, she seems ok but foot is facing in a little on right leg so has a limp. Second one , flipped and flopped alllll over the incubator while hatching . Now that she’s out of the egg… she’s dragging the egg around , from behind , can’t see how it’s stuck to her. Seems to be hindering her standing up properly , and walking . Suggestions please?

The one with egg behind is the one dragging it, she’s really having a hard time walking . Hatched about an hour ago, no pepping yet . Other one is peeping, just little bit hard time walking .
thanks

Can kind of see inside the egg here . Want to help, but don’t want to cause damage either . It’s not coming off.

The egg one might be slightly shrink wrapped on a foot or something. Try misting the shell with warm water to moisten it and chip away at the shell reducing the amount that is dragging. Don't just yank it off because if it is somehow still attached you don't want to damage the chick.

This one looks like it has curled toes. How long ago did it hatch? If not better by tomorrow I think you need to tape them flat.

Fixing Curled Toes With Tape - Picture Tutorial and Video

7-31-2019 Sometimes a chick will develop or hatch with a condition called curled toes or curly toes in one or both feet. Many people believe this is caused by them being in the shell too long or humidity being too high during incubation. It's been my experience that this type of curled toes...

Ok I’ll try that with the one with the egg, though only two hatched and one has about to hatch. So wanted to wait so as not to shrink wrap the other eggs? The one with the curled toes hatched about 10 hours ago. Yea I’m going to try and tape her foot tomorrow .
wanted to wait a bit to move them to the brooder, but I may do it in a hour or so after this next one hatches. To help the one with the egg stuck to her .
