Quails hatchling dragging its egg

Just gently break the egg away and cut the dried part that was In the egg?

The egg is attached by a piece of the hatching debris that looks like thread or a string. Find it a cut it.

Egg piece snipped off just fine.. just put them both in the brooder. It’s an eco glow.. they went very silent . That’s normal? Didn’t pay attention to when I tried to show them where the water was. I have it set to a pretty low position since there Soo small. I hear a peep here and there . But That’s it …so silent , any advice if that’s normal ?
