I am going to be purchasing these and bringing them home next week.

these are 3 of the 5.
there are 3 hens and 2 drakes.

How do they look, or do ducks really always look like they should, as compared to chickens.

these are two other hens from another lady, that I'm also considering. the welsh is the same age as the welsh from teh above lady's flock. which is good. The Rouen hen is 1 year old.
what do you think of these two, and should I take them as well?

Im not a duck expert, but the ducks in the first pic look to be really nice quality. But on the second picture, the rouen looks to be a male on eclipse plumage.

I agree with the 2 posters above about the 2nd pic ducks.

Also, although I have no idea on ideal breed characteristics for WH, I like the ducks in the top pics best as they have a "cobby" appearance as opposed to the WH in the 2nd pic which looks leaner. They just appeal to me more on a prettiness scale! They are absolutely gorgeous

and I wish I could have them !

interesting to know about the Rouen being a male.

thankyou. I am happy I made the right choice

Definately like the ducks in the first picture! Are they gold Harlequins? They are very pretty.

(I also think the rouen looks male)

thankyou, I am so happy to get them now. I think the first group look gorgeous too.

They were raised by a 4H girl, who sells them at Fairs every year, gets new babies each spring and does it again.
So they are super friendly too.

2 more days until I get the ducks. Can't wait !!!!!!

doing finishing touches on their house and run.

curious, how high can ducks hop? sounds silly, haha.

do they need steps to get into nest boxes with front ledges, as I know they probably aren't as agile as chickens, or are they?
