Quarantine social chicken experiment

Things get boring in quarantine. One of my pullets has gone broody, we removed all her eggs when she first went because our roosters are both bantams and she is a big girl. I went to clear out eggs the other day and one of our silkie girls had laid. I stuck it under the broody gal. We’ll see what happens! This chick if it hatches will be a full silkie and the girl it is under is an american game mix and she is a smart girl so we’ll see if she figures it out.

That's hilarious! My cochin bantam roo tries oh so hard to breed my massive BLW! However, his body is like 1/4 of theirs so it's never been successful!

BLW? Blue Laced Wyandotte? I have a BLRW (blue laced red wyandotte) and he breeds her. She hasn't started laying yet though so I'm interested to see if hers turn out fertile.

We have all bantam roosters, and lots of full-sized ladies (all different breeds), and they have no problem getting the job done. Our fertility is nearly 100%.

I have one rooster who is a silkie, he does okay with the ladies but is terrified of Beyonce as she is my only non banty. I also have a banty wyandotte who is terrified of absolutely everything in life so he isnt getting near her anytime soon either!

I'm just curious... What happens when you cross a bantam and a large fowl bird? Are the babies either or, or are they in-between in size?

In my experience, they've been small to medium sized. No full sized yet.
