Question about a chick dying

Sometimes people are not yet mature enough to realize that there's not re-imbursement in life for every bad thing that happens. The bad thing that happened is to that chick that died.

I just got off the phone with the woman again out of 5 chicks 3 are dead one almost dead and one seems ok she said .These chicks were 2 - 21/2 weeks old she said she had the temp up at 90 . She said the chicks were just lying down and panting and then dying . I spoke with the two others that bought chicks and my own are doing fine. I am thinking maybe it was hotter then 90 degrees and she didnt realize it . Can chicks die of heat stroke ??

is she giving them plenty of water? One chick dieing is not that unusual, but she is doing something incorrectly to loose this many.

I know I just told her that. Shes using a 250 watt bulb I think she over heated them . I told her to start giving the probiotic water to do it by hand I think they might have gotten dehydrated . I dont know what else to tell her I feel bad

I doesn't matter the wattage or anything. If the chicks are in a small space that they can't get away from heat this is exactly what can happen. Poor things!

At 2 1/2 weeks old 90 degrees is too hot. Panting then dying is the answer that she is cooking them! Yes, chicks do die of heat stroke, and that is exactly what seems to be happening. She needs to raise the heat lamp and give them a bigger enclosure so they can get away from the heat. She does not know what she is doing. Do not give that person any more chicks, no matter what!

I know I am not giving her anymore especially since these are chicks I hatched myself poor babies .
