I have a silkie rooster who was an accidental hatch while I had a mixed color pen. We had a tree fall onto a few of our pens so we combined pens while we made repairs. This rooster was from an egg laid by either a blue cuckoo silkie or a splash silkie hen with a white naked neck silkie roo who is a result of many white to white only generations of breeding. I have a basic color genetic understanding. Would I be correct saying this is a blue rooster. I know whatever color he is it is not a desirable color. Would there be any value using him on black hens to produce better blue coloring. I was told his body type was nice. He has very large slightly blue almost white earlobes. Is this a fault in the breed.
