Some time ago I was on a thread where we were discussing Apple Cider Vinegar and its uses with poultry. Some one was talking about how if you have the organic one with mother in it you can make more by adding water and letting it ferment. Im wondering if anyone can remember what dimensions?

I want to start using it for my old horse, as its good for their arthritis and I used to give it to my old boy years ago. I started with a half litre of organic ACV, Ive added that to just over a litre of water. I know the whole lot wont be 'active' but its good to start her on a diluted amount anyway. She also takes a lot of supplements now and the ACV hides the taste. She really liked it in her feed yesterday I think.

So, organic ACV with mother in it, how much of it to how much water, and how long does it need to sit for to transfer its properties to water?

I am wondering if you'd need something for the mother to work on to produce the vinegar . . . let me see if I can find something. Oh, well, this may not be what you were looking for, but I still have the tab open for it. I have not had time to sit down with it yet.

Brilliant sites! Thanks heaps for that. My local fruit shop always has huge bags for $2 and to get organic ACV is SO darn expensive! This is great!

I will have to search through my old threads to find that old conversation because it was a lot quicker if you had the mother, like literally just put half your bottle in some water and it will change it in X amount of time. Now I know how to make my own mother!
