My hen decided to raise a family in the spot where she and my other hen lay eggs. I did not move her when she first went broody (now I know better), so I have about 15 eggs at various stages in an incubator in my son's room.

She has successfully hatched out 3 chicks and is a great momma. Two evenings ago, we moved her into a giant dog kennel with her babies and put the rest in the incubator. The three chicks that moved with her probably hatched 4 or 5 days ago. We had another hatch out last night. She (I hope it is a she) seems very vigorous and healthy and is rolling her siblings all around the incubator.

I know that as other chicks hatch out, I will probably give them away, but can I still add this one to the brood? I was thinking about either sticking it in when I put food in the cage or slipping it under her tonight. She is very protective. I'm not sure I can get away with the kidnapping and returning two for one technique. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

Another chick hatched out about 20mins ago. Can I put them both in with her tonight, or do I have to wait for the second one to dry completely?

Any ideas? The second chick is also pretty lively, but not completely fluffy. It has been about 7 hrs since it hatched. Can I give both chicks to momma tonight?
