Question about Bantam

I have a question i have a Black Bantam i'm not even really sure what kind she is she is all black with a Regular Red comb and red ear lobes but anyway she has a nest outside with around 8 eggs in it She laid this afternoon making it 8 and now here it is after 7:30 and she is on the nest is she setting on the eggs? please let me know what you think.

Has she been sitting there since this morning? If so then I would say that you have a broody hen.

If she stays on the nest and does not go to roost with the other chickens then you definately have a broody. I hope you have a way to protect her from preditors. Even a neighbors cat can kill a broody banty.
