Question about blanketed appaloosas....

My appy freckles had raised spots and he was definitely half quarter horse, his dad was full qh and pretty sure his mom was full appy. Definitely had striped hooves mottled skin and white around the eyes.

Yeppers. She's got 'em! It's funny, tho, because the ones on the edge of the blanket are not raised, but the ones in the middle of the blanket are most definitely raised.

She's also got the mottled skin, the sclera, and the striping of the hooves. Ginger is palomino so there is not the great contrast between her body color and her blanket, but she does have a handsome blanket. She is almost--but not quite--a snowcap.

My leopard Appy mare is what I call 3D. It's more noticable in the winter time with the extra thickness. You can actually see the difference between her spots and the white base coat. Just another cool trait that this great breed is lucky to have!!
