Question about Blu-Kote and feather picking

My active ingredients are different from yours. Mine is made by Dr. Naylor...........Blu-Kote Veterinary Antiseptic protective wound dressing

Active Ingredients-

Sodium Propionate 9.1%
Gentian Violet 1%
Acriflavine .15%

But mine still only says its for dogs and horses too but then in the smaller print it says domestic animals. Sounds like yours is just fine to use. But you may be even to google the label name, find a number, and call them.

Blu-Kote and Wound-Kote are essentially the same thing. They are in our general ag section and I use them on all my critters for minor scrapes/sores.

Companies can only list animals that they've tested on and they likely just haven't tested on poultry even though it's perfectly fine to use on them.

Ditto Skyedobb. I have Wound Kote and BluKote, and use it on all my animals-- horses, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and geese. Have even been known to use it on myself on occasion.

Works great to dry out and seal wounds, and stays on through anything. Love that stuff!

I use both of them at some time or another. Can use both.
You said your hens back is a little ruff. Can you do something about the roosters? You can also use pine tar, it comes in a little tin can like paint, they don't like the taste of it.
How many roosters and hens do you have?
What kind do you have?
How big is there space?
