Not sure if this is where this goes but..... I got 6 chickens in a group and later got 2 EE chickens that are several months younger. My 2 EE's are very bonded. If you see one you see the other. They always roost next to each other and get stressed when separated. Amelia has a severe crossed beak. We have kept her going by feeding her a yogurt and feed mash. She is smaller than Cleo but she's a very feisty bird. Cleo is at the bottom of the pecking order and Amelia is the only one that let's her get close. My concern is what happens to Cleo if we are unable to keep Amelia alive due to her crossed beak?

She will be motivated to join older birds which will be completed by time she comes into lay. You can speed process by forcing her to rooster among older birds at night where they can here her in close proximity. I would place near dominant older bird when lights go out several nights in a row. This not a practical effort for most but worth it for pet birds.
