Question about broody hen

I have a broody hen that I got a couple weeks ago. The person that owned her kept taking her eggs. Today I got fertilized eggs for the incubator and figured I'd try to put one in the nest. She immediately laid on the egg. I decided to bring out a couple more since she was laying on that one. When I moved her to put more there were an additional 2 eggs. One smaller then the other. Would it be normal for her to lay 2 eggs within 25 minutes? I also have a miller barbu d'uccle hen, could it of triggered her to lay and 1 of those eggs be hers? She's just about at the age of laying but has never layer before

it could have been other hens laying it or could have been a egg hidden by the hay. i dont think it is probable she layed them that quick but she could be a super chicken!

Usually a broody has already stopped laying, if she's been broody for a while those likely arent hers at all. Chances are that other hens have laid eggs in the broodys spot. This is normal as most hens will prefer a already used or taken nest over an empty nest.

How many other hens is your broody cooped with? How long ago did you get the broody? And did you give her a day or 2 to make sure she stayed broody? Some will stress from a move and giveup nesting

I've had her for 2 weeks and she has not laid any eggs during the past 2 weeks. She is housed with what we believe are 2 other hens. One is a miller barbu d'uccle and the other is a silkie which we believe is a hen but not 100% certain. It was the only one out of its siblings that have not crowed but it has some what of a larger comb.

it is most likely other hens putting eggs in her nest, my neighbors have 50+ ducks and 100+ chickens. it happens all the time to them, a nest will have one egg, and then they will come check the nest a hour later and there will be 15 eggs.

So then you other 2 might both be laying which the small egg might be one of the others first. Besure to mark your eggs so you know which ones are hatching and which to collect. Like I said its not uncommon for then to want to lay in a nest that is already taken, and yes the mama will continue to collect spare eggs until she feels she has enough. The biggest issue with a shared nest would be the risk of someone kicking an egg out or smashing an egg as they will often move the hatching eggs around more then mama will. If you do find a hatching kicked out simple put it back in even if its cold it can still be good if it hasn't been out long. Becuse i only had the 1 hatching egg (a set of 2 the first got smashed) I probably candled then more then i should have. But every night after finding the 1 out of the nest i would candle it too make sure it was still good, or at least to make sure it wasn't kicked for being a bad egg.
