question about Campbells

My buff orpington ("Barbie") is just for looks, she's paired up with my crippled runner drake ("Floyd") so I pretty much have her "for him"-- she's smaller than my welsh harlequins and has never actually laid for me despite the fact I've had her for 4 months and she was an adult then. I would have to have more of the breed to judge their quality, but she is NOT a good ambassador for buffs to me! LOL

Next time I order stock it will be harlequins for dual purpose or eggers, all the way.

Our Anconas start laying around 6-7 months and lay roughly 260-280 eggs/yr. The males take a while to grow to size (like 16-20 wks), but will reach 5-7lbs and dress out around 2-3 lbs with EXCELLENT meat, it has a rich taste and fine texture.
