This might be a dumb question but, what kind of comb will a chicken have if it's a cross between two chickens with different combs ?
For example....a chicken with a pea comb and a chicken with a single comb.
Will it be one or the other? Or kind of a mix of the 2 comb styles?
Thanks.

Depends on the combs.

Pea + striaght = funky looking mixed comb.
Ignore the scary looking molting hen, just look at the comb.

And a rooster...

Rose combs are dominant--rose + straight usually = rose.

Rose + pea = funky mixed comb.
I think pretty much all the other comb styles, when mixed, become some weird looking mixed comb. That's part of breeding pure bred birds, keeping the correct comb style.
