I way overthink things so wanted to ask....the inside of our coop is osb board. Is this ok? Does it need to be painted or stained? Still a workin progress. Also, the litter trays....other than lining them with something you can clean easily like vinyl tiles or something, so I need to fill them with bedding or sand or anything? Thanks...still learning and reading.

I would always suggest a couple of coats of good quality exterior paint on the inside of your coop. You could get fancy and pick a fancy color that is much to your liking, or you can stop by your local hardware store and pick out an hoops color. In a years time you will be glad you took this extra step because it makes cleaning your coop 100 times easier and also helps the wood last a lot longer.

I have a small coop ( small flock). I went online and bought greenhouse trays for my poop trays and they have been fantastic. I just hose them out when they get dirty. In between times I sprinkle them with sweet PDZ and a little pine shavings it makes picking up poop easy!
