Question about coop

Raccoons would be my concern. I have heard stories of them reaching through and strangling sleeping birds. I do not know if it is true though. You could put something with a finer mesh (like .5” hardware cloth) over the bottom couple of feet and the opening right under the roof?!

Yeah I was mainly thinking raccoons. I talked to my dad and we’re gonna get to that asap!

My biggest problem is snakes. The rat snakes have been my only predator issue. We had to cover every opening with hardware cloth. We already had the kind of wire you do plus chicken wire. It's been a constant battle keeping them out of the coop.
