I have a 3 month old chick. When should I deworm him. I have some safeguard for horses paste. Can I give him 1/4 ml of this.
Last spring I have my adults this by hiding it in a grape.

Also I would like to band his leg, so that when I free range him, I will know which one he is.
What kind of bands do I need, and at what age can I put them on. I was thinking of keeping him penned until October.
Once I turn him loose it will be unlikely that I will be able to get my hands on him easily to change the band.

thanks

Should worm him when you put him outside/on the ground. If that's now, then you can do it now. Then most people do it at least twice yearly (spring and fall, beginning and end of breeding season). I don't know about the horse paste, safeguard for goats is what we use when we use safeguard.

You can order any kind of band from Cutler Supply, just make sure that you're getting a size that he will not outgrow. They have the sizes listed on the item's page, and say which size will fit which size of bird. You will probably have to purchase one of if not the largest band they have, and it will have "peafowl" listed in the sizes. When I banded mine young, I was able to change the band. I ordered size 12 spiral bands for their adult sizes, but I wish I had ordered larger as they outgrew size 12.

If you want something more permanent than the spiral ones, they sell numbered plastic bands and metal bands, as well as wing bands. The reason I went with spiral ones is because they were easy to put on and take off and were easy to see differences from afar.

Wingbands I think are the best, you can order them with your farm on them if you like.

Safe Guard for Goats 3cc to 1 gallon of water for 3 to 4 days changing water daily.
