Yep... Either way (wet or dry) DE is pretty useless for anything.

I use DE all the time around my house for Ant control mostly. I got it when my dog had fleas. It totally works and its totally safe to dowse ur chickens w it as I did my dog. For ant control I would have to leave a pretty good amount on their trail and the mound and they would b gone with in an hour or less. It just looks like a mess. I will leave it there til the next time I vacuum. I love it. Once it's in ur vacuum u can suck the bugs up into a death trap! Best part is its totally safe and not toxic insecticide poison

Ok Someone just gave me some DE and I have no clue how to use it or when or where. I have 6 Golden Comets, 7 months old and I am very new to this. they have a store bought coop and a small attached run that I build (4ft by 8ft.) covered with clear plastic for the winter, with one side left plastic-less for vertilation. do i spread it in the coop or the run or WHAT?? help Tom.

Make sure it is food grade DE. The other kind I have read is poisonous. You can add some to sand or dirt to make a nice dirt bath. Keep out of rain.
