Question about egg developement & broody

What if some eggs are further along in development? Today, I quickly candled the EE I put under my broody 8 days ago - all appear fertile however some of the eggs look much further along in development. Some look like 8-9 day eggs while others look like 12-13 day eggs. Also, there was one I think she cracked that is developing nicely - do I leave it?

I'm pretty sure that the ones that are behind actually speed up a bit towards the end to narrow the gap. But I'd let them be....I'm sure they'll be fine. For the cracked one, if it is a small crack, a piece of scotch tape might be helpful to keep moisture from escaping too quickly.

You should melt a little candle wax over the cracked one.

Oh, the wax idea is much better than the tape idea.
