question about egg laying

    how is it that even though their is no rooster a hen can still lay eggs i know its not because other hen have sex with them so how do they do it?

    I believe a female chick is born (hatched) with all her eggs inside her already. They will develop and be laid regardless of whether or not there's a rooster. They won't be fertile tho.

    well is their a limit to the eggs i mean i have had chickens for a year and they havent but i am just wondering incase anything would ever happen to my rooster.
