question about eggs on a turner in the genesis 1588

I have a genesis 1588 with an egg turner. All my slots are filled. Has anyone ever tried incubationg in the spaces between the eggs, where the egg is not sitting in a cup, but between the eggs that are? I have a chance to get some nice breeds but my bator is full, and was hoping this would work instead of forking out for another bator for this 1 time chance. Any ideas or input would be very much appreciated!

WOW! I didn't realize you could lay them on their side on top of the ones in the turner! Do you have to hand turn those? I'm thinking this might come up soon...
