Question about Feeding Meat Birds/Chicks

Hi, our current flock is on a layer mash. We want to add chicks that we use for meat birds. I know that chicks aren't supposed to get layer mash because the calcium is too high. But I also read that you can use layer mash for meat birds if you add protein? Which is true?

I am not sure, but my feed store actually has chicken feed for meat birds.....That would be alot easier......

formulate a flock grower feed you can use to either egg layer or meat producing bird. laying feed goes to adult hens. it cant be to chicks calcium too high for them.
