My peahen is about 5/6 months old. She shares a run/coop with my pullets/hens. Currently everyone is on chick starter/grower but all my chickens are at the age & ready to switch to layer pellets. Is it ok for my peahen to eat the layer pellets? I know if you start a chicken on them too early it messes with their kidneys...

The problem with the layer pellets is that your peahen needs more protein. It's okay for her to eat them, and I doubt if the extra calcium would damage her kidneys, but she needs more protein overall in her diet. You could supplement her with some catfood or gamebird feed. I'm sure you know that she won't reach laying age until 2 years old, more or less, and won't really start laying in earnest until she is 3...

Thank you...Yes I know she won't lay for a few more years thats which I was asking if it would harm her...I do already give her/them protein snacks because of the chickens molt & our current cold weather...so I will continue that & pick up the gamebird feed too. THANKS!
