We have 30 goats... a few wethers that were out first pets, a pygmy that was our very first goat[ shes dehorned by the way, we didnt do it] Then I have a Nubian buck, and about 20 Nubian and La mancha does of different ages. Then a few does we got at auction... an alpine, a few dwarf nubian cross. To the point. I havent ever dehorned anyone. Most I have do still have their horns. I prefer them that way. The horns are used for other things besides butting... like staying cool. There are even blood vessels in those horns. I have many horned goats and none of them have ever turned their horns at me. Not even my 3 yr old Nubian buck. And I have four kids that play with my goats. We are caustious around them... the kids dont play with the stud obviously. Do your research before you decide if you wanna [Take off] their horns.
