They are pricey, but understandably so.
In my area, chicks go for about $100 each. They are not flying off the shelves. I would see the same ad for a long time, with the chicks getting progressively larger.
All depending on area. I recall one individual (a BYC member btw) had some , and no one was interested in them at @$10 each.
I guess the peeps liked traditional chickens for their Southern Fried Chicken Recipes.
Many of the Ayam Cemanis are not pure breed. They are mostly black, but not totally.
I only keep chickens as pets. I do eat the eggs though. I would have no problem with an imperfect Ayam Cemani,, meaning not totally black.set some regular
