Question about hens

My hen is raising eight chicks. Now she is laying eggs again. I know she is laying the eggs because they are seperated from the other chickens. Is this normal?

Yup perfectly normal and woohoo lucky you. Some hens go straight into their yearly molt after being broody

This is the second set of chicks for this hen this year. The first chicks we removed and raised inside because we didn't have a safe place for her to raise them at the time. And she set up a new nest and started brooding right away. We put her up with the second set of chicks. She is a Mille Fleur D'Uccle.

My hen started laying again very shortly after the chicks hatched. I was surprised also.
