Anybody here that has built a cabinet style incubator (with the heating element and fan in the top portion) that has the heat blowing from either wall out across the heating element.......instead of pulling air across the element, and blowing it into the wall to recirculate?

Someone just built a cabinet incubator and entered the incubator page contest. You might check that thread. The page has pictures that might be what you are looking for.

We built one of these cabinet style incubators, still having some challenges with getting the temp. to be the same in the top of the cabinet as the bottom. I have 4 turner units for it, and that makes the circulation more of a challenge. I have added another small fan on the top shelf and tilted it downward.....I am still not exactly equal. All in all great incubator, still learning about it.

Glad I could help. I just have a little homemade cooler incubator but if I was going to build a big one it would be one like that too.

Well, I've got a LG now, but I'm not stopping until I build a cabinet style bator like I want.........one that will have a least 2 egg shelves, plus a top shelf for water pans. I have the thermostat and fan..........fixin' to get the heating element.........then the cabinet-grade plywood. I know what I want, and how to assemble everything.......just gotta get all the materials. But my initial question was one that might have different opinions (the fan direction question). I know heat circulation/distribution is critical in getting "stable" temps. That's why I was asking. I guess I'll eventually figure it out....
Thanks again......

I just have a little cooler incubator and the fan is next to the light not blowing directly on it. It works for mine but I don't know about the big ones. I just have a little backyard flock so my incubator works fine for what I need or want to do. If I had a larger area I would a bigger one for sure.

I put a false floor in mine and duct it from top to bottom, two 2" pvc pipes with two 2" pc fans Made several
holes for heat to move up through. It has two shelves that hold 64 eggs each. Have the ladder type manual
turner. When I go into lock down I remove turner and insert Hatching trays. Heat at both shelves are equal.
Second hatch going now, about 84% first time.......
