If you are worried about too low of humidity you can add a wet sponge, but it's really best to leave them alone as much as possible, even though it's SO HARD! It takes about 2 days for them all to hatch so don't stress. Some pip and hatch right away, some pip and hatch 12 hours later. At least that's been my experience!

I have 19 hatched and more pips but I will going to bed soon listening to the chirps of the ones already hatched dreaming of more little ones hatching out. . . . .

I cant wait till morning to check in for a

status report!!! We just went into lockdown tonight and I am already having the kids check the temp and humidity hourly..EEEK

well I went into my room lol and got worried if the temp might be high, so I came back. There is still another egg rolling but not pipped, the others have all gone quiet

I finally had to go home around 2 am. This morning I found this

There are 3 more pips. 2 of them are pretty much exactly the same as they have been since around 1030 last night. The membrane showing is papery white. Do I just keep waiting? The only peeping I hear is the chick.

got a little zip going on with one, the other is peeping but no progress and there is a new pip!

I need a drink!

Oh yeah.... I don't drink. Hmmmmm

ETA - how long does it take the chick to dry if all is right in the 'bator? 3 hours later (more than that since it hatched) and it still looks drenched.

I have 5 eggs in various stages of hatch!!! Pip, zip and hatching!!! I keep cheering them on !

It takes FOREVER doesn't it?!? I don't drink either but total know what you mean

Try to leave them alone as best you can, every time you open the bator the humidity drops immediately and less will hatch. Don't worry toooo much about the little pips, I've had them take another whole day to start zipping. It seems like once one hatches, all the peeping and commotion wakes up the rest and they get busy. It's best to leave the little guy in there for 24 hrs, if you can stand it! (Sometimes I'll sneak in a grab one out after 12 though- yikes!) Mama hens will continue setting for 2 days after the first one hatches, so you are far from done yet! Congrats on the new babies!!
