question about make a very cheap incubator

alright, as of now i will only be iincubating quails, but in the future maybe somthing different
if i get a light and dimmer switch, could i just put that into a 50 cent strofoam cooler, with a water tray, two vents, and a egg tray / roller?
or does it have to be more introcate than that

What do you mean by dimmer switch. I made my incubator from a bunch of extra stuff I already had. The only things I had to go buy was a light kit from Walmart that cost about $5.00, and a hotwater heater thermostat that I bought at Lowes which cost me $8.00

Dimmer won't correct for rising or lowering room temps, you should have some sort of thermostat added to help control the temps.
