I have a young rooster that's about 9 months old. About a month ago, one day, he was just limping. I didn't notice anything prior to this. He won't or can't open one foot. He still eats drinks and poops normally. He crows and dust bathes. Acts normal just with a limp. He moves around alright but only walks on the side of that foot. The rest of the leg bends normally. I've been giving him vitamin b, but it doesn't seem to be improving, so now I'm thinking it could be an injury. I was wrapping it just to protect the skin and because I'm treating for scaly leg mites. I'm wondering if I should keep it wrapped up all the time. Any experience with something like this?

Does he have SLM or is it just rough feather follicles due to being feather footed?

Will the foot go back in place if you splint/wrap it? If so, you can try splinting to see if that helps. Check wrappings daily to make sure they are not too tight and are not causing any further damage or sores.

Continuing giving B-Complex daily wouldn't hurt either.

What I've read said that if there are any raised scales it has to be scaly leg mites. So I've been doing oil and Vaseline. I figured it wouldn't hurt anything even if it wasnt mites. I can manipulate the foot to be open normally when holding him. I will give the splinting a try and keep it wrapped. I will keep up the B complex too.
