Question about Mandarins/ Canvas Back Ducks.

I have been wanting them and quite possibly invest in pairs of both. What I was wondering that since they both seem to want to fly away to be never seen again, if you can just clip their wings or would they still fly away?? I will still have the fully enclosed pen and very protected one but just wondering if clipping would help if they got out the door some how..

You can clip one wing to prevent them from flying, but a netted aviary I feel is the best, the Cans probably won't fly much but the Mandarins will like to perch on things and typically nest better full-winged although a pole leaned against a raised box will work.

Thanks! Its just Ive never specifically seen that someone clipped there wings and just wondered if it was diffrent for them.
