I found an ad on craigslist that says:
"These are the richest eggs to eat. Top chefs around the world only use the Maran eggs. These eggs cannot get salmonella because there pores are so tight."
Is any of that true?

Nope. The bloom is what protects the eggs.
I seen cooking shows with top chefs using white eggs.

Seller is pulling his/her buyers leggs on that one.

Yeap - the add should be pulled because it is not true. Anyhow I have a Maran and her eggs are no different to any of my other girls!!!!!

Why would you want to flag an ad somewhere else from what is said on this forum. I disagree 100% with the others and think the eggs do taste better and have a different texture. Don

You must have a sensitive palette.....I've eaten a lot of both my Marans eggs and my other eggs over the years and can't tell any difference in them.

Just recently I gave away several dozen eggs and afterward ask people if there was any difference in the eggs. 100% said they were different. The part that I do not like is the poster is trying to interfer in someone else's business. I guess some just do not have anything else to do with their time. Don
