Actually it's a couple of questions. I have a pair of Rouens, about 4 months old, male and female. Along with them I have what appear to be two male Pekins, the same age. They are all living happily together. The Rouen drake just recently got his adult feathers. Today I noticed that Sam (the male Rouen) is trying to mount Ella (the female Rouen) only while they're in the pool. Is this too early for sexual maturity? Is he just sort of getting ready for the real thing? Also will the two male Pekins try to mate with Ella, too? If so, should I separate the pairs? I have noticed them trying to bite her on the neck, but just in the pool. I'm worried that if they all try to mate with her in the pool at the same time they will drown her. Is this even possible? Thanks in advance for any advice.
