I have a 2 year old female silver pheasant named Astrid. Lately we have been having a huge problems with raccoons so she and her penmates (one younger male silver, one female bobwhite quail and 2 Bourbon red turkey poults) are residing in the garage while I am fixing up the aviary with my mom.

I hadn't thought much of it but my mom noticed how slowly she often walks and she tends to remain in one place for quite some time. I have seen her falling asleep in the day, which I thought was caused from lack of sleep at night due to the raccoons' chatter (I slept outside in a tent to monitor and hear them).

She also has lost the feathers on her back again. I used a camera on a phone so I apologize that these are terrible photos:

The male pheasant keeps pecking at her back and she allows him to do so before she squeaks and moves away. So I don't understand what this is about or if she has a health problem.

She does not have mites that I am aware. I will add DE to a box of dirt for her to bathe in.

She is fed a mix of DuMor adult bird food, a small amount of chick feed as some younger birds are with her and she tends to gravitate towards the chick feed, a game bird block, sunflower seeds and mealworms every few days, and is also given apples and occassionally bananas.

She is also partially blind in one eye, I think she was hit or pecked when she was younger, before I had her. It's a creamy blue/white color while her other eye is normal.

Thank you for any help or advice you can give.

what is the colour of the poop and is her stomach loose

It's solid white, like the male pheasant's at times and it is runny at others, at times it is a more clear color. Since she has been inside I haven't seen anything that looks runny from her.

I did that and she does look better. I stopped for a couple of days and she got worse, so I put her back on the vinegar and she is better.

I would like to know what is causing this though. I am giving her peanuts and chopped pumpkin seeds every few days for more help.

You are giving her Dumor feed, but is it a gamebird feed? They need ghamebird feed not just regular chicken feed.Your turkey also needs the gamebird feed.Do you worm them regularly? As for the peanutys, pheasants love them but they have to be unsalted! The back is more them likely the male breeding her.Give all of them some Gatorade straight from the bottle.Pumpkins seeds should take care of any mites or bugs.Has she laid an egg yet?She may be egg bound.I would leave them in their pen and not move them around too much.Catching them causes way too much stress in pheasants. If you can't fix the coon problem quickly, play a radio at night not to loud just enough to keep predators away. They will hear the voices and stay away.

The aviary is nearly finished. She and the others are in the garage still.

Just so I know exactly what I am doing and why, what will the gatorade do? I did get some electrolytes (sav-a-chick) and another additive for the water.

They are not getting gamebird feed in particular as per the Dumor. I do have a gamebird block that I cut up and sprinkle in with their food. It's mostly that.

The peanuts are unsalted.

She was laying eggs a while ago but hasn't in quite some time.

Gatorade has electrolyesThey do need a gambird feed.I don't think the gamebird block has the protein required for pheasants.Do you have grit available at all times for them?

I do add oyster shell grit every now and then. I don't leave it out regularly. Should it always be added to their feed?

Is gatorade better for electrolytes than a supplement like sav-a-chick? I got a bunch of gatorade today for them.

Grit should be available at all times, they will eat when they know they need it.Either way,if you have the sav a chick already use it.Gatorade is all mixed so you don't have to guess how much.I use 1 teasppon per gallon when I use powdered vitamins and electrolytes.
