Question about my barred rock?

Can anyone tell me if this is indeed a barred rock and if so is it a hen or roo?????

Appears to be a BR cross (maybe Cuckoo Marans since the legs seem whitish). Definitely not purebred. Looks like it's sire was a BR or a Cuckoo Marans, or it's a BR crossed with a white legged breed (white skin is dominant). What type comb does it have? Can't see it in the pics.

I will take a close up pic tomorrow. My husband thinks that it looks like a seagull.
