Hello, I have 16 Coturnix quail (10 Female 6 Male) that are at week 5 and a batch of 8 Celadon Coturnix quail that are at week three. the older quail are outside in a coop with a run and the celadon are in large tub I am planing on moving the celadon out in a week or so do you think there will be any problems? let me know. Thanks!

There is the coop with the 5 week old quail want pics of any thing else?

The Celadons will be four weeks old when they go out, so by then they will have gotten fully feathered and will be okay outdoors. My only concern is the large amount of males. They may not yet be mating and fighting, but they will soon, so I hope you have a plan for most of those boys as the younger celadons might become a target for their attacks.

planing on culling 4 of the older quail, might do all of them if I get three celadon males. who knows maybe they will get along.

You have way too many males, but it sounds like you know that.

If you can, put the new birds where the two groups can see but not touch each other that will give you a better chance that they'll get along when you put them together.

Looking at your picture, don't be surprised if your quail don't use the ramp or the box it leads to. They're ground birds and rarely climb .

ya, I pick them up at night and put them up in the coop (they are very tame) we needed a coop quick they had out grown there previous cage and that coop is what we ended up on i'm going to try to sell eggs and get the lumber and other materials to build a larger run with the coop on the ground. we'll see how it goes. planing on hatching out 50 eggs this summer and selling chicks for $1.50.
