Question about Omlet fencing

I'm wondering if the Omlet fencing and gate will work if it is not used to enclose a space with the ends of the fencing meeting. I want the ends of the fencing to be on opposite sides of the coop -- if that makes sense. Will the gate work if one side of the gate is against a building, rather than meeting up with the other end of the Omlet fence? Can you put a post next to the coop and have the gate close onto the post? I hope this makes sense. Thanks!

I have no experience with this fencing, but I will say. Some sticks and a roll of chicken wire will do the same job for a lot less money and you can adjust it all you want then.
