I just received my order from Nature's Hatchery, 5 Phoenix pullets and 15 Silver Laced Cochin pullets. I also received 10 "packing peanuts" with the order. They appear to be buff cochins. My question is: Are these extra chicks probably all male? I really don't know what to do with 10 extra roosters!

Hi, i also got some "packing peanuts", and was told your state's craiglist is a good place to post chickens for free.

Yes, but I would wait until after Easter to post them. Most of the chicks bought during Easter end up as a surprise gift, then may be dumped somewhere once the cute wears off.

I think I will keep them for a while and see how they turn out. We have a local livestock auction in Silex on the 3rd Sat of every month, I can always take them there. It just so happens that I have some buff cochin pullets too, but I have heard that they can be hard to breed, I was just going to use them for broodies/pets for my kids.
