Question about poop

This is my first year with adult chickens. We free range them and I noticed poop that looked like it had specks of grit in it. I obsessively looked at other poop in the yard and didn't notice it anywhere else, looks like rocks and not anything parasite-like. I wasn't sure if grit ever passes through into the poop?

It makes sense to me that it would, because they will occasionally eat a little if it is available, and it is bound to get smaller as it grinds down harder foods.
